Write – Handwriting, Spelling & Grammar, Creative Writing
Write is an e-learning module that works in conjunction with the module Read as well as the other modules of the programme, Arthur the Elf- Learn & Play.
The educational resources, for 5-8 years old, are designed to support the development of handwriting, spelling & grammar, and creative writing skills.
The module offers an English & EAL version, a French & FLE version, and a Bilingual Education version.
It has been tailored to meet the needs of native speakers and language learners who are proficient in the target language.
The E-Learning Module
The e-learning module is structured around three integral parts:
- Fine Motor & Perceptual Skills: The activities support the development of the muscles of the hand. Children gain the necessary control to produce letter forms and develop the perceptual skills needed to orientate and organise letter and words.
- Spelling & Grammar: The activities and games allow children to develop an understanding of the relationship between letters and sounds. Youngsters learn to spell common words and simple sentences.
- Creative Writing: The activities encourage children to use their imagination and support the development of foundational writing skills. Young learners increase their vocabulary range, learn to structure a story, and develop critical thinking skills.
Each version of the module includes: lesson plans, progress assessments and more.
English, French & Bilingual Education
English & EAL (English as an additional language)
The module offers two options: Write (English) and Write (EAL).
Write (English) is designed for native speakers aged 5-8 years old. The module works in conjunction with the module Read (English) and complements the British curriculum.
Write (EAL) is tailored to meet the needs of language learners aged 6-8 years old. The module works in conjunction with the module Read (EAL).
French & FLE (Français langue étrangère)
The module offers two options: Écris (Français) and Écris (FLE)
Écris (Français) is designed for native speakers aged 5-8 years old. The module works in conjunction with the module Lis (Français) and complements the French curriculum.
Écris (FLE) is tailored to meet the needs of language learners aged 6-8 years old. The module works in conjunction with the module Lis (FLE).
Bilingual Education (English – French)
Write – Écris (Bilingual) is suitable for bilingual children aged 5-8 years old.
The module works in conjunction with Read (Bilingual). Children develop solid language and literacy skills.
The educational materials are suitable for children receiving a bilingual education (English-French).
